commissioners' decision 2010/11-3: The Pickups v. Khabibulin

Let it be known that Khabibulin has Rule 2f availability.

The Pickups came out of the entry draft with one goon. His name is Chara. And he is a mighty goon. But he is a defenceman, only one of three on the Pickups' roster, and he cannot do double duty: Rule 4b.

So Pickups (with commendable dispatch) released Khabibulin to the FA pool. Pickups picked up Brent Seabrook as the third defenceperson and slid Chara into the goon slot.

Rule 2 also prohibits Pickups from acquiring Khabibulin in any way for one calendar year. Any other GM can acquire him in the "next" weekly trading period. The Rule also states that none of these moves cost any GM any (tangible) thing.
